New Year Update: A Step Toward Change for Children in Illinois

As we welcome the new year, we’re filled with hope and gratitude for the progress we've made in our work to support children affected by parental substance abuse, domestic violence, and other traumatic incidents. We are excited to share that we have received confirmation of policy support to for changes aimed at improving the lives of these children. This is a meaningful step forward, and really opens an opportunity to create safer, more stable environments for families who are facing some of the toughest challenges. Our goal is simple—to ensure every child has access to the support and resources they need to heal and thrive.

That said, we know there is still a lot of work to do. While this policy backing is a positive start, it is just the beginning. With the support we have received, we now have an opportunity to collaborate with policy experts and community leaders to bring these changes to life. We are committed to working tirelessly and listening to those who are directly impacted by these issues, ensuring that the policies we advocate for truly make a difference in the lives of children and families.

As we move forward into 2025, we remain deeply committed to our mission of advocating for children’s safety, stability, and well-being. We are grateful for the support of our policy supporters and for the chance to continue this important work. Together, we believe that with persistence and collaboration, we can make lasting change and create a better future for children and families affected by intergenerational cycles of trauma. Here's to a year of progress, hope, and healing.
