Child Abuse Prevention Month (CAPM) is a wonderful opportunity to highlight the importance of learning about the signs of child abuse and how to prevent it.
In 2026 , Unity for Children will continue to embrace the theme Healing Begins Now — reflecting our belief that prioritizing healing of our children in Illinois must be at the center of every system and every decision. Healing can’t wait. When we prevent further escalation of trauma, and ensure healing is prioritized for every children along the way, we not only heal individual lives, we heal generations.

This month and beyond, we stand with children — advocating for proactive safeguards, empowering those who care for them, and strengthening the systems tasked to protect them.
