Domestic Violence Awareness Month is a time to reflect on the impact of abuse and the power of healing within families and communities.

In 2026, Unity for Children embraces the theme Healing From Home — highlighting the importance of supporting parents and caregivers who have experienced abuse, and recognizing how their recovery strengthens the well-being of their children. Healing begins when experiences are shared, validated, and supported, and when families are empowered with safety, resources, and guidance. By helping parents heal, we help children thrive, break cycles of trauma, and build stronger, more resilient families.

Every parent deserves safety. Every child deserves security. Every family deserves the chance to heal together.

This month and beyond, we stand with families — promoting awareness, providing resources, and strengthening systems that protect and empower. When healing begins at home, families can grow stronger, children can flourish, and communities can become safer and healthier for everyone.

Join us by learning, sharing, and taking action to support families and promote healing from home.
